About

Welcome to my website. My name is Quirina Santing-Kamoen. Living in Emmen and is located in the northeast of the Netherlands in the province of Drenthe, with my husband Marcel and our dog Gucci.

Photography is my greatest passion. It started with capturing moments from my own life and photographing animals at the zoo. I initially worked with an analog SLR camera but later switched to a DSLR camera, which was also much more affordable. For a long time, I wasn’t seriously involved in photography, but eventually, I wanted to take better photos. That’s why, in 2017, I began to delve deeper into photography. At first, I focused on photographing dogs, as I was working as a dog trainer at the time. But eventually, I wanted to capture more animals, so I started focusing on photographing animals in the zoo.

My interest soon shifted to landscape photography, which turned out to be a completely new challenge. This challenge became even greater when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I had to learn to cope with this condition, which also affected my photography. As a result, I began experimenting with other subjects, including a period of street photography.

After all these experiences, I’ve come to the conclusion that the world is too beautiful to focus on just one specific subject in my photography. However, animal photography has always been a constant subject; whenever I saw an animal, I photographed it. That’s why, after my vacation in 2024, I decided to specialize in wildlife and animal photography. This brings me the most joy, and I find it incredibly interesting to learn more about animal behavior.

In addition to my wildlife and animal photos, you’ll occasionally see other subjects as well.
